Landfall in Ria del Barqueiro

These pictures are a little outdated, as I took them one month ago. on the day we made landfall after crossing the Bay of Biscay. But if I don't publish them here, they ain't live anywhere! So here we are: a few pictures from the magical Ria Del Barqueiro, where we spent our first night at anchor since leaving Stockholm. We didn't believe that the shapes forming in the clouds just above the horizons were mountains. But approaching land, it became clear we were wrong!A moment we had been waiting for years: raising the Spanish flag on Polar Seal starboard flag halyard.A tiny lighthouse at the top of a big rock in the middle of the sea, marking the entry of Ria Del Barqueiro.O Vicedo, the small village by which we dropped the anchor. Our first night on the beach! And what a beach...Enjoying a nice aperitif with our friends from Boutavent, who we crossed Biscay with. The small harbor of O Vicedo. The harbor's "lounge".Sunset over Ria del Barqueiro.A satisfied captain, after a challenging crossing of Biscay! An image we had been longing for: Polar Seal at anchorage, on a sunset backdrop.
